Chief organiser of the St. Kitts and Nevis Cool & Smooth T20, Dario Barthley, has labelled the second instalment of the tournament a success adding, however, that there is room for improvement.
The competition, which featured six teams, climaxed on Sunday night with Molineaux Blue Runners defeating St Paul’s Barracudas by 19 runs to lift the championship trophy.
Barthley said that based on feedback he has received thus far, the experience was positive for all involved.

“All of the stakeholders definitely enjoyed the experience and obviously, there is feedback still trickling in on the tournament, but I think early signs are that it was a very successful tournament and definitely much improved from the first edition, and with some of the talks I’ve heard even during the period, I think there are more improvements to come. I think that for a long time, St. Kitts definitely wasn’t playing enough cricket so I think that everyone over there is happy to see that cricket is back,” he said.
Keon Harding top-scored for Molineaux Blue Runners with 50 off 31 balls as they posted 141 for six in their allotted 20 overs. They then restricted St. Pauls Barracudas to 122 for seven off their quota of 20 overs. Justin Amurdan hit a top score of 33 from 30 deliveries.
Barthley said that with the right amount of support, the tournament will grow in both popularity and competitiveness.
“I think that in years to come and with the support of the St. Kitts & Nevis Cricket Association and the government of St. Kitts & Nevis that we will be able to do significantly more with the Cool & Smooth T20,” he said.
Brown Hill Dolphins finished third in the tournament following a five-wicket triumph over Sandy Point Snappers.
