Antigua & Barbuda delivered a commanding bowling performance to dismiss St Kitts for just 109 runs in 20 overs, after posting a 192 for six in their own innings during their Leeward Islands T20 Cricket Festival clash.
Karima Gore was the standout performer with the bat, crafting an impressive 79 runs off 51 balls, including six fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 154.90. His knock formed the backbone of Antigua’s total of 192 for six.
Nino Henry provided valuable support with a quickfire 34 off just 14 balls, striking at an explosive 242.86 with four fours and two sixes. Hayden Walsh Jr contributed a steady 19 not out, while Michael Dover chipped in with 18 runs.
Tariq Newman was the pick of the St Kitts’ bowlers, claiming three wickets for 26 runs in his four-over spell, while Keon Harding picked up one wicket.
In reply, St Kitts struggled from the outset and were eventually bowled out for 109. Cameron Pennyfeather top-scored with 27 off 12 balls at a blistering strike rate of 225.00, including one four and 3 sixes, but his efforts came too late in the innings.
Jaleel Clarke contributed 26 runs off 31 balls, while wicket-keeper Ruve Louw RL managed 17 runs before being run out.
Kofi James was the destroyer-in-chief for Antigua & Barbuda, claiming two wickets for just three runs in two overs – an outstanding economy rate of 1.50. Micah McKenzie on debut also picked up two wickets for 17 runs.
The comprehensive 83-run victory showcased Antigua & Barbuda’s balanced team performance, with contributions from both bat and ball securing a dominant win in this regional encounter. Other matches saw Nevis nudge Combined Islands to win by two runs while Anguilla beat Combined Virgin Islands by seven wickets.
