New Winthorpes Primary and Pigotts Primary booked their spots in Thursday’s semifinals round of the Cool & Smooth/Joma Caribbean Primary School Cup with victories over the weekend.
New Winthorpes were comfortable 5-2 winners over Greenbay Primary with Asana Percival leading the charge with a hattrick, hitting the back of the net three times. Raylin Rodriguez scored both goals for Greenbay.
In the other contest, Pigotts edged Five Islands Primary 3-2 to step into the semis. Elisa Dela Cruz was on target for Pigotts with a double strike while an own-goal accounted for the other conversion. Teejay Hodge and Lashane Benjamin each struck once for Five Islands.
In the first semifinals scheduled to start at 3:00 pm on Thursday, Parham Primary will face St Peters Primary while Pigotts Primary and New Winthorpes Primary will clash at 4:00 pm. Both matches will be played at the Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG).
