Female Flyers were crowned champions in the St John’s Cooperative Credit Union 15-overs women’s softball cricket competition, following a 28 runs triumph over Survivors at the Rising Sun playing field.
Batting first, Female Flyers posted 111 for five in their 15 overs with player of the game, Terez Parker, hitting a top score of 45. Makada Hector chipped in with 31. There were two wickets each for Editha Burnham (2/13) and Menova Govia (2/34) bowling for the opponents.
When their turn at the crease arrived, Survivors team were restricted to just 83 for five in their allotted 15 overs. Grace Persaud top-scored with 27 runs while Leukelle Pelle chipped in with 21.
Gaynel O’Garro and Akeda Francis both claimed one wicket for Female Flyers.

Meanwhile, Strictly Business reached the final of the WTP 93.5 FM-sponsored 30-overs competition with a narrow one-wicket win over Bullets, also at Rising Sun.
Player of the match, Deran Benta, top-scored with 71 to guide Bullets to 114 for nine in 23 overs. Melvin Charles (3/34) and Owen Graham (3/46) were the pick of the bowlers for the victors.
An all-round batting effort then guided Strictly Business to their target at 116 for nine off 23 overs. Kim George top-scored with 23 while Charles and Graham made 15 and 14 respectively. Dorian Grant was the pick of the bowlers for the opponents with four wickets for 28 runs in five overs.
In the other semifinals showdown, Buckleys 3Js beat Dredgers by 65 runs.
Buckleys 3Js posted 217 for six in 21 overs with Kenrick Scott hitting a top score of 54 while Richie Thomas made 44 not out and Charanlall Ramjohn added 33. Mervin Higgins had three for 57 and Loy Weste bagged two for 33 bowling for the opponents.
Dredgers could only reach 152 for nine before their allotted 21 overs elapsed with Jaquan Athanaze making 63. Player of the match, Zavier Otto, snatched five wickets for 37 runs in just six overs for the winners. Ramjohn bagged three for 42.
