Matthew Miller has been named captain of the Leeward Islands Tropical Wave Under-17 team for the upcoming CWI Rising Stars Under-17 Championship, scheduled to take place in Trinidad and Tobago from August 10th to September 2nd.
The talented all-rounder’s appointment marks a significant milestone in his young career, as Miller currently holds the captaincy for both the Leeward Islands Under-17 and Under-19 teams simultaneously. This dual leadership role underscores his exceptional cricket acumen and leadership qualities at the regional level.
In the ongoing Under-19 championship, he has been instrumental with both bat and ball, accumulating 174 runs at an impressive average of 35. The 14-member squad features four players from the Antigua and Barbuda team who won the LICB Under 19 Tournament in April. Joining Miller in the squad are fellow countrymen Tanez Francis, J’Quan Athanaze, and Hosea Roberts, all of whom bring valuable experience and skill to the team.
