Blackburn booked their ticket to the final of the Fort Road Community Football League (FRCFL) on Wednesday with a narrow one-nil triumph over Real Blizzard when they met in the league’s second semifinal at the Fort Road playing field.
Diondre Harrigan scored the lone goal of the contest, netting in the 21st minute to secure his team’s spot in the ultimate showdown against Villa who, 24 hours earlier, booked their spot in the final.
The final will be contested Friday at 5pm at the same venue.
On Tuesday, Villa advanced to the final with a narrow 3-2 win over Enforcers on penalties after their encounter ended 1-1 after regulation. Jahquan Davis had put enforcers ahead in minute 41 but national player Eroy Gonsalves drew Villa level from the penalty spot just seven minutes later. The Villa men then went on to outscore their opponents 3-2 from the spot in the best of five contest.
