Liberta Blackhawks batting duo Malique Walsh and Michael Greaves continue to flourish in the United Kingdom, building on the impressive form that has defined their cricket careers since representing the Leeward Islands Under 19s in 2023. Both players have maintained their hunger for runs across various competitions, establishing themselves as consistent performers on both local and international stages.
Greaves has been particularly prolific in recent seasons, demonstrating remarkable consistency across multiple formats and competitions. In the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association’s T20 Day Competition, he accumulated 494 runs from 13 innings in 2025, maintaining an impressive average of 41.17, while the previous year saw him score 500 runs from 16 innings at an average of 41.67. His versatility across formats was further highlighted in the Super 40 Competition, where he amassed 347 runs at an outstanding average of 86.75, showcasing his ability to adapt his game to longer format cricket.
Currently plying his trade with Grantham Cricket Club in the UK, Greaves has continued his exceptional run-scoring form, accumulating 741 runs at an average of 49.40, including a magnificent high score of 138 that demonstrates his capability to convert starts into substantial innings. His all-round abilities have also been on display with the ball, where he has claimed 15 wickets with a best bowling performance of three for 34, proving his value as a genuine all-rounder who can contribute meaningfully in all aspects of the game.
Greaves’ credentials were further enhanced during his time with the touring Antigua and Barbuda Under 19 Team, where he notched up 254 runs at an exceptional average of 63.5, underlining his ability to perform on the bigger stage when representing his country. This consistent run-scoring across different levels and formats has established him as one of the most reliable batting talents to emerge from the Caribbean region in recent years.
Meanwhile, Walsh who represented the Senior National Team in 2023 has secured a contract with Ellerslie, competing in the competitive Nottingham Division A league, where he has already made a significant impact with 329 runs at an average of 47.00. His impressive form has been highlighted by a superb century, with his high score of 111 demonstrating his ability to play substantial innings and anchor his team’s batting efforts in challenging conditions.
