Team Antigua and Barbuda fell to their first defeat in the ECCB sponsored OECS International Netball Series when, on Tuesday night, they were beaten 45-33 by St Lucia at the Tanteen Netball Complex in St George’s, Grenada.
St Lucia held a slim 10-7 lead at the end of the first quarter before going on to hold an 18-14 lead at the half. Antigua and Barbuda fell further behind at the end of the third quarter with St Lucia leading 32-25 before going on to claim the contest.
Antigua and Barbuda had won their first three matches in the tournament with their latest victory coming via a dominant 60-10 display against Guyana on Tuesday morning. On Monday, Antigua and Barbuda enjoyed a comfortable 53-14 triumph over Montserrat, their second straight of the tournament before rallying to a compelling 63-17 triumph over Anguilla at the same venue on the tournament’s opening day.
