Defending Double Champions Sandals continued their unbeaten run this season with a decisive win over SLBMC in the Cool and Smooth / Joma Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association Business League, as fans experienced yet another nailbiter match with Corner Stone Builders & Maintenance and Fearless Security Services playing a keenly contested duel.
In the opening game, Sandals went past SLBMC 62-43 in a game that saw strong performances from their key players. TShawn Lewis led all scorers with 20 points to pace Sandals’ attack, while Keroi Lee contributed a double-double effort with 13 points and a game-high 18 rebounds, dominating the glass throughout the contest.
SLBMC fought hard but couldn’t match Sandals’ offensive firepower. Demeitre Leitch was their standout performer, recording a double-double of his own with 12 points and 15 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the 19-point deficit.
The second match of the evening proved to be a nail-biter as Corner Stone Builders & Maintenance squeezed past Fearless Security Services 58-51 in a defensive battle. Takeem Martin was instrumental in the victory, leading Corner Stone with 17 points and adding 12 rebounds for a double-double performance. Jesus Lopez provided valuable support with 14 points and showcased his defensive prowess with five steals.
Fearless Security Services received strong contributions from Gabriel De Suza, who posted 15 points and 8 rebounds, and Emeka Emjuru, who matched that scoring output with 15 points while pulling down an impressive 15 rebounds. Despite their efforts, Fearless Security Services fell short by seven points.
