Essan Warner produced a devastating batting display at Powells, smashing 77 off just 29 balls to lead Brysons Bullets to a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over PMS on Sunday to claim a spot for the finals next Sunday in the Island Boys Softball Classic T20 Tape Ball Competition.
Chasing 119, Warner dismantled the PMS bowling attack with ferocious intent, striking four boundaries and nine sixes at a strike rate of 265.5. His explosive 17-minute innings completely broke the back of the chase, allowing Brysons Bullets to cruise home in just 6.3 overs with 13.3 overs to spare.
Jahiem Norde provided solid support, remaining unbeaten on 24 off nine balls with one four and three sixes, while captain Deran Benta finished not out on 12 off two balls.
Earlier, PMS struggled after being inserted to bat, posting 118 all out in 19.4 overs. Morton Browne and Denzil Roach top-scored with 20 runs each, but no other batsman could provide substantial support as wickets fell at regular intervals. Dandre Harris contributed 12, Clarence Francis made 11, and Trevorson Atley added 10, but the middle order failed to capitalize on their starts.
Warner’s all-round brilliance proved decisive as he also claimed 3 for 18 with the ball in 3.4 overs. Andra Samuel and Kimani George each took two wickets, with Samuel conceding 26 runs in four overs and George giving away 25 in three overs. Shaquan Reifer (1 for 20) and Vaughn Charles (1 for 11) also chipped in.
PMS’ bowling attack had no answers to Warner’s onslaught, with Kurl Simon (0 for 35), Trevorson Atley (0 for 42), and Morton Browne (0 for 20) all wicketless. The comprehensive victory marked one of the most dominant performances of the season, with Warner’s explosive innings cementing his place as one of the competition’s premier all-rounders.
