The Board of Education basketball team has written their names into the Cool and Smooth ABBA Business League record books after completing an unprecedented perfect season, becoming the first team in the competition’s history to go undefeated (18-0) while capturing both the league and playoff championships in the same season.
Under the guidance of Coach of the Year Chet Jacobs, the dominant squad capped their historic 2025 Cool & Smooth ABBA Business Basketball League campaign with a convincing 65-53 victory over Richie’s Shooterz in Game Two of the Playoff Final on Saturday, completing a 2-0 series sweep.
Xavier Meade led the championship-clinching performance with 19 points, while Daniel Perez added 14, Danny Perez contributed 13, and Most Valuable Player Adonis Humphreys chipped in 12 points. For Richie’s Shooterz, Cohen Desouza scored 18 points, with support from Jaheem James (15 points) and Jaleyle Joseph (10 points).
The team’s dominance extended beyond the court, with Board of Education players sweeping multiple individual honors.Daniel Perez earned league MVP and Most Steals, Meade claimed Most Assists, Most Points in a Single Game, and Most 3-pointers in a Single Game, while Humphreys secured Most Blocks along with the Playoff MVP award. Danny and Daniel Perez were also named the league’s Most Exciting Players.
Richie’s Shooterz, despite falling short in the final, had an impressive season finishing second in both the playoff and league standings. Cohen Desouza was named Most Outstanding Player, while teammate Darnell Azille led the league in rebounds and Jaheem James excelled in the Individual Speed Dribble competition.
Sandals claimed third place in the playoffs and earned the Best Crowd Support award, with their star T-Shawn Lewis being named Most Outstanding Player in the league phase. ACT was recognized as the Most Disciplined Team and won the Team Speed Dribble competition.
Board of Education’s perfect 18-0 record and double championship haul represents a pinnacle of achievement in ABBA Business League history. Their combination of offensive firepower, defensive discipline, and tactical excellence proved too formidable for every opponent they faced throughout this unforgettable season, cementing their place as the greatest single-season team in the competition’s history.
