A promising young Antiguan cricketer has earned a mid-series call-up to the regional youth squad currently battling England in Grenada.
Micah McKenzie, an 18-year-old leg-spinner from Empire Nation, arrived in Grenada earlier this week after leaving the Leeward Islands Hurricanes camp in Trinidad, where he had been competing in the CWI Super 50 tournament.
Cricket West Indies has confirmed that McKenzie will be available for selection starting with today’s match at the Grenada National Stadium, as well as the series decider scheduled for December 1st.
Earlier this year, he topped the bowling charts in the CWI Breakout Lead competition with 12 wickets, and followed that performance with 14 wickets for the Leeward Islands in the CWI Under-19 tournament.
