Young Lions FC were brutal in their attack to overwhelm Belmont FC 6-2 in what turned out to be the weekend’s highest-scoring encounter. The match began with early drama as Belmont’s Zamaal Greene opened the scoring in the 4th minute, but Young Lions responded immediately through Zavier Joseph‘s 5th-minute penalty to level the contest.
Joseph proved to be the star of the show, completing a superb hat trick with goals in the 62nd and 80th minutes. Deante Anthony added a second for Young Lions in the 22nd minute, while Stefan Smith got on the scoresheet in the 58th minute. Calique Simon rounded off the scoring spree in the 66th minute to make it 6-1.
Belmont’s Iandre Hodge managed a consolation goal in the 76th minute, but it was merely a footnote in Young Lions’ dominant performance.
Police then arrested the Liberta Blackhawks 3-0 in a one-sided affair. The deadlock was broken in the 55th minute when Glenroy Prince opened the scoring for the home side.
Carl Kirby doubled the advantage just two minutes later in the 57th minute, effectively ending Liberta’s hopes of a comeback. Vivian Gonsalves put the final nail in the coffin with a third goal in the 74th minute, completing a comfortable clean-sheet victory for Police.
Blackburn Palace secured all three points with a convincing 3-1 victory over Glanvilles at Fort Road on Friday evening. Demarre Swift broke the deadlock in the 18th minute, giving Palace an early advantage that held until halftime.
The second half saw the game come alive. Jahmari George doubled Palace’s lead in the 54th minute, seemingly putting the match beyond reach. Glanvilles refused to surrender, however, as Ashane Mattison pulled one back for the visitors in the 67th minute to make it 2-1.
The visitors’ hopes were short-lived. Just a minute later, George struck again to complete his brace in the 68th minute, restoring Palace’s two-goal cushion and sealing a comfortable 3-1 victory for the home side.
In a tightly contested match, Guydadli edged past Westham FC with a narrow 1-0 victory. The decisive moment came in the 40th minute when Imani Joyce found the back of the net, providing the only goal of the game. Despite Westham’s efforts to find an equalizer, Guydadli’s defense held firm to secure all three points in this low-scoring encounter.
